  • 12 oz. goat milk
  • 4.4 oz. lye
  • 16 oz. coconut oil
  • 16 oz. olive oil
  • 8 oz. shea butter
  • Essential oils (optional)

Instructions:

  • Wearing gloves and protective eyewear, carefully add lye to goat milk and stir until dissolved. Set aside to cool.
  • In a separate pot, melt coconut oil, olive oil, and shea butter together.
  • Once the lye mixture has cooled to around 100°F and the oil mixture has cooled to the same temperature, slowly pour the lye mixture into the oils and stir well.
  • Using a stick blender, blend the mixture until it reaches a trace. This means that it becomes thickened to a point where a drizzle will leave a visible trail on the surface.
  • Pour the mixture into soap molds and cover it with a towel or cardboard box to keep warm.
  • Let the soap sit for 24-48 hours until firm, then remove from molds and cut into bars.
  • Let the bars cure for 4-6 weeks before use.
